With 83 floors and a height of 1,136 feet (346 m), it is the third tallest building in Chicago, surpassed in height by the Willis Tower and the Trump International Hotel and Tower.

Completed in 1973, it is the second-tallest building in Los Angeles at 858 feet (262 meters) high, and has 62 floors. Designed by Charles Luckman, it is a rectangular black building with a white border, and a remarkably slender form for a skyscraper in a seismically-active area. The logo of the Aon Corporation, its primary tenant, is displayed at the top in red.
