About One America Plaza

One America Plaza is the tallest building in San Diego, California and a prominent fixture in San Diego's skyline. Located in the waterfront district of Downtown San Diego, One America Plaza is a thirty-four story, obelisk-shaped tower standing 500 feet tall, designed by architects Helmut Jahn of Murphy/Jahn Architects and Krommenhoek/McKeown & Associates. The top of the building bears a striking resemblance to the end of a Phillips-head screwdriver. One America Plaza is currently owned by The Irvine Company. The America Plaza trolley transfer station is located on the ground floor of the building between the main building and the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego.
