About Chevron Tower

"555 Market Street" redirects here. This is not to be confused with "555 California Street" The 575 Market Street tower of Market Center, originally known as the Standard Oil Buildings and later The Chevron Towers, is a skyscraper located in downtown San Francisco's Financial District on Market Street. 575 Market Street is a 40 story, 574 foot (175 m) office skyscraper completed in 1975. As its previous names suggest, Chevron Corporation was once headquartered here. The 40 story tower is the taller of the two tower complex of 555-575 Market Street, whose current major tenants include SquareTrade and Cryptography Research. The shorter tower is known as 555 Market Street. The 311 foot (95 m), 22 story tower was the first tower of the 555-575 Market Street Plaza complex, completed in 1964. The two buildings are surrounded by small ornamental plazas. Both buildings are terra cotta over a granite base.
