About Parkway22
Parkway22 is an approved residential community planned for the international art neighborhood/Benjamin Franklin Parkway region of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Initially, Parkway22 was to be completed in 2010, with a 37-story condo tower, a six-story loft building and 12 town homes. The condo tower as planned was to rise 407 ft (124 m), and would likely have become the 25th-tallest building in Philadelphia upon completion. A Best Western hotel currently sits on the site, and was to be demolished before construction. One building of the Best Western was demolished. Before further progress could be made, financing for the project halted amid the economic downturn. Parkway22 is no longer selling units, and the website, www.parkway22.com, is no longer functional. Per a Best Western desk clerk in April 2010, Parkway22 is no longer planned to be developed. The condos were to range from junior one-bedrooms to expansive three-bedrooms. The lofts were to have an open, unstructured feel and range from one- to two-bedrooms. The traditionally styled three-bedroom town homes were planned as duplexes, with facades designed to blend into the neighborhood’s existing homes.
