About Candela Hotel & Residences
Candela Hotel & Residences is an approved 410 ft (125 m) tall skyscraper in Seattle, Washington. It will have 36 floors, and will be located near the historic Pike Place Market at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Pike Street. The architecture of the building is particularly interesting as it is significantly smaller in the middle than the top and the bottom. Construction is set to be complete in 2012. In addition to the Seattle project, Candela Hotels is looking to open luxury hotel properties in gateway cities in North America, China, India, the Middle East and select destination resorts. All Candela Hotels will be built to LEED Silver standards or higher. Candela Hotels was founded in 2005 by Tom Pigott, President and CEO. The company spent the first three years working with leading researchers including Pricewaterhouse Coopers to identify how to best serve the traveler. Candela Hotels promotes the use of a clean slate approach in its analyses of every aspect of hotel design and operations to create a "transformational guest experience that eliminates traveler frustrations and pain points using innovation, personalization and sustainable design.
